Sam's Place is a full design and build in Val d'Isère which sleeps 14 - a project where the clients handed us something rare: genuine creative freedom. The brief was straightforward - create something distinctive, make it robust enough for young children and a busy social life, and trust us with the rest. We responded with reclaimed ecological wood and raw metal finishes, a combination that brings warmth and edge in equal measure. The materials were chosen as much for their durability as their character - because a family chalet needs to be lived in, not looked after. The result is a space with real personality, built for life rather than for looks.
